Hello there! It's been a while, and as you can see by the title of this journal, PPdA is holding a new contest! But before we get to that, there are some other things to talk about first. We need your suggestions for the following things...

At PPdA we love hearing the suggestions of our members, and I need your help with thinking about a new News Article for the club to publish. Our first News Article, A Chronology of Pixar was published with great success and something along those lines would be good. What do you guys think of a News Article featuring just Up artwork? Would another A Chronology of Pixar featuring the same idea but different artwork be too repetitive? Do you have any other ideas?

The club has been expanding rapidly, and we've now got 250 members! This is brilliant, but it also means that the Member List that is held in a single journal is choc-a-bloc with icons, and it might take a while to load on some people's computers. What do you guys think of separating the list out into two or three sections? Or would you prefer to have the Member List all in one place, as it is now?

When browsing the club's gallery, on the left hand side you can see a list of all the artists who have contributed and you can choose to see their artwork. As it is now, the list is just in name form, and you have to click a name to see the member's artwork. There is an option for making it so you can see little thumbnails of some of their art under each name, which sounds cool, but at the same time it would make the page a lot longer because of the number of people who have submitted art. Which would you prefer- names but no thumbnails, or names with thumbnails?

Aside from some lovely suggestions from the members of this club (which would just make my day ), there are a couple of other things I'd like to bring up.

The club now has a dedicated fanfiction section to encourage the submission of more fanfiction! So when you go to the Gallery Index, you will immediately be able to click onto the section that contains only fanfiction.

Lately there has been an influx of favouriting the club's uploaded artwork instead of the original artwork. I've noted a few people who have done this excesively, but just to remind you all-

PLEASE DO NOT FAVOURITE THE CLUB'S ARTWORK. IF YOU WISH TO FAVOURITE A PIECE, CLICK ON THE LINK PROVIDED IN THE DESCRIPTION AND FAVOURITE THE ORIGINAL.

In this way, the artist gets the recognition that he or she deserves!

So, now that's all sorted, onto the contest...

Up Characters Contest

The Theme- To celebrate Pixar's newest release, Up, this contest is all about drawing your two favourite Up characters interacting in some way. They can be doing absolutely anything you want, wherever you want (it doesn't have to be set in the world of Up)!

Requirements-

The artwork must contain any two characters from the film Up.
Any creative art form is allowed.
Please try and avoid including anything very spoiler-ish within your entries. The film has not yet been released universally, and so any entries thought to be revealing too much about the content of the film will not be accepted into the contest.
It must not contain any obscene references- keep it universal, please! Any explicit entries will be ignored.

And that's it! Be creative, and make sure you follow these dates and deadlines-

Dates-

Opening date: 12th June
Closing date: 12th July
Voting will begin: 13th July
Voting will end: 20th July

The winner will be announced in the first journal after the voting has ended.

Prizes-

The picture will be the club's featured deviation until the next competition.
The winner will recieve a one month subscription to deviantART.
The winner will be inducted into PPdA's Hall of Fame.
